Re: Winter Tarp Questions
That is correct. I use the cheap saw horse brackets Home Depot which allow you to splice the 2x4s along the ridge line. I wrap the two ends and the joints in the middle, as well as antenna brackets and my bow ladder with carpet scraps and then wrap with a 60 x 30 tarp. If you use screws with a squar...

Re: Winter Tarp Questions
I tarp our F36. I have two reasons, 1) my boat is painted and if you let plastic shrink wrap stick to the sides anywhere, you run the risk of causing paint blisters. 2) I'm cheap. You cannot shrink yourself in our yard due to guy that burnt up a dozen boats in a yard near-by a few years back. A shri...

Re: F-36 props
You would think, but when I make long trips, and have the values on the gas lines right, she burns pretty much evenly between sides. I did have a problem with the cross-over gas line valve at one time, and I was burning almost all the fuel from one side, but when its closed right, its pretty even bu...

Re: F-36 props
I have a F36 Sportfish. She has 330HP GM 454s spinning 20x20 3 blade props (at least that is what they are marked). Back in 2010, I had just installed fuel flow meters and posted this data: RPM /MPG /MPH /Port GPH /Starb GPH /Total GPH 750 /1.63 /4.74 /1.3 /1.6 /2.9 1000 /1.69 /5.75 /1.4 /2 /3.4 125...

Re: Looking for Vessel Movers
Have you considered floating it there? Some Sunday, I won't go back to the Marina, I'll just head south and not look back .
I've used Richard Johnson. he's in Northern IL.

Re: Dream Cruise of 2015
We had a great season. Splashed in early April and hauled out in October 10. We were at the boat 2-4 nights a week every week except for a three weekends when we went boating with other boats to other places. The biggest trip in the Trojan was from Red Wing, MN where our marina is to Genoa WI and ba...

Re: Going to purchase 1988 f32
continuing the hijack. I switched to progressive a year back. Self survey. I think I submitted 16 pictures as their request. 8 exterior, 8 interior two of which were each engine, one of the genny. Guaranteed value policy. I was skeptical, but a fellow boater in our Marina has had them several years....

Re: Suggestions to tow a PWC?
Paul, mostly I've been dragging along a jetski or a 15' "dingy". At 6-10 knots, you really don't know its back there regardless of the seas (although I should point out that being trapped on the Mississippi, getting 2-3 footers is even pretty rare. Whats more common is some jack-wagon pass...

Re: Suggestions to tow a PWC?
i've used these for years. http://www.towdster.com/ I installed two SS U bolts to the outsiide edges of my swim platform that I clip this thing on to. Simply, works well. The best part is that if you stop quick, it deflects what you are towing off to the side vs crashing up into the back of your tra...

Re: All most new F32 owner
I'm pretty certain an F32 has a 13' beam, draft of 2'6" and a bridge clearance of 12'6" (add those last two together for the guy hauling so 15'). Unless its a very short distance where you can avoid all bridges and over-head lines, the flybridge has to come off. Its a good day work for two...

Re: Soft deck
I'm looking at doing a 2 part "epoxy" type paint. I will likely have the boat awhile, and I don't want to do it again. The drawback to the 2-parts is that they are harder, and I understand that if you have any areas that flex, it will crack (which is not desired). So, lots of prep work aft...

Re: Soft deck
Brightsides. I've loved it and I've hated it. Love it because its easy. as with anything, the prep is everything. I've had more complements on our 40+ year old boat because the paint looks like new now even 4+ years later. Now the bad. It CAN NOT have water sit on it too long (couple of days) or win...

Re: PEEE UUU
I have a vacuflush system and put in a 55 gal tank a few years back. Prior to that, I had a 15 gal tank and pumped out weekly and treated with 16 oz of thetford chemicals each time. When I got the 55 gal tank, I started going 2 weeks, then three but talk about the boat farts! Then I figured it out. ...

Re: Crazy Idea...
Michael, where do you spend most of your FL time cruising? Do you stay on the west side as well? Do you ever take the canal across and if so, how many hrs'?
When you head back north, do you leave your boat in the water or do they dry dock you?
