Re: Anti siphon valve
I had a similar problem couple yrs ago..... suddenly the Stbd engine wouldn't start. Replaced fuel filters with no improvement. Remembered seeing a post here about the anti-syphon valve. Removed it and reinstalled the fuel line with out it (it's in-line). Engine fired right up. Ran her like that unt...

Re: Leaking Side Windows
I had the same problem with my Tri a couple yrs ago on all my windows. Discovered it was comig from the metal trim surrounding the outside of my windows. The old original caulk or plummbers putty they used was totally dried out. I simply applied a bead of white 5200 around the top 3 sides and haven'...

Re: windlass
I've always had "Good" windlasses on my boats, they've never let me down. And the motor is easy to replace ($185) and seems to last 20-25 yrs

Re: Replacing Alternators with more Power
+1 on all above! I wouldn't see a need for anything above 65-70 amps unless you're running ALOT of 12v stuff while underway. My charter boat friends run the big alts because they are running massive electronics, including twin radar, couple of fridge's, pumps, major lighting, etc. RB 8) (but hey... m...

Re: engine/marine gear oil ?'s
I tried Rotella 2 seasons ago on my 270 crusaders and it was an ABsolute nightmare!!! Oil pressure gauges were all over the place on plane, often dipping just below 20psi, which I had never seen before on this boat. Even changed the oil after 10 hrs but no difference. A bud who used to build marine ...

Your wife is right!
Approach some friends who like boating-fishing and ask for their help with small projects. Tell them you'll never ask for gas $$ in the future and will have plenty of cold beer on hand when on the water. Every Spring I have several friends asking to help me.

Re: Soft starboard deck on a 87 Tricabin need advice
All of my aft railing was loose when I bought mine. The nuts are bedded in the fiberglass and a bad idea! Access was pretty good through the mirror port above the aft bed. I used marine grade 2x4, 12" pieces, for each rail post. Used new SS nuts, bolts, and lock washers and bedded with 5200. Ha...
