Re: Backfiring above 2500 rpms

I've been digging here and on the internet to find the filters. I don't have that info and want to buy them before I get to the boat Friday evening

Re: Temperature gauges

The gauges are connected so loosing both is what should happen. Check that sending unit connection good. After that you need to check the power supply to the gauges. The sending unit is essentially a ground with variable resistance. The gauge measures the resistance. Try touching the brown wire goin...

Re: Backfiring above 2500 rpms

That's the first thing I'm going to replace this weekend P-Dogg. I have a 1976 Trojan F-32 with Chrysler 360s. Does anyone know what filter is needed for the water separator/filter? And I have a metal canister fuel filter inline before the carburetor. Besides the anti siphon valve on the fuel tank a...

Re: Temperature gauges

Did you work on the engine recently? I knock my connector off the sending unit just this past weekend. I was changing thermostats out and when I started the engine up I didn't get no reading. But a quick glance showed me my problem. Hooked it up and gauges came to life.

Bimini Top

So I have an old Bimini top with frame off of my 1976 F-32. The frame had some kind of coating over the tubing that is falling of and just gone in some places, leaving a rusty tube showing. The frame is plenty strong but I want to make it look new again. The coating that is falling off seems to be a...

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal

We have hot water!!! After some blood and sweat I was finally able to loosen the hot water heating element. When I pulled it out you could see visible cracks in the element. Wish I would have taken a picture but it was pretty obvious that it was part of my AC leak. Also checked the ground wires from...

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal

Ok been busy with a bunch of little projects and also enjoying being on the boat in the water. I changed all the light fixtures to LED lights, WOW what a big improvement. Doesn't feel so gloomy at night... Pulled up the galley floor for a quick look and all is good under there, then screwed the pane...

Re: Sherwood GB-7 Raw Water Pump

Sorry guys I guess I assumed everyone knew what a Sherwood GB-7 pump was. Its the pump on the side of the engine. It was dripping every few seconds while the engine was running. And it was coming from the holes on the pump casing. Basically dripping where it should if the seal is bad. Hope that help...

Sherwood GB-7 Raw Water Pump

One of my raw water pump was dripping at the end of last season and now it after an hour of operating the engine it is not dripping a drop? Has anyone had this happen before? Engine temps are normal and the same on both engines. There is even water flow from both exhausts?

Re: Refitting a 1976 F-32 Journal

Had a productive weekend. Finished the non skid on the cockpit deck and installed the recovered combing panels around the cockpit. Also checked out the trim tab pump and topped off the fluid and low and behold the lower helm switches are reversed. Is there an easy fix? Swap wires at the switches or ...
