Re: F-28 Blower/Blowers

Thanks Bob, I think that 4" is what I need. After I pull the existing I'll see how much trouble repairing it is vs. replace and then be in touch.

Re: F-28 Blower/Blowers

I've checked behind, under and around the seating and have found that my F-28 only has one blower motor located on the starboard side. I have power to the motor, now that I have replaced the faulty fuse blocks, and the motor is dead. Are there any known direct replacements on the market that match u...

Re: 10m radar arch pics

Good Job Bob! We went on a night cruise last night and it was already dark when we left the dock so I didn't need the bimini. But I couldn't help but notice that the anchor light would blind me if the bimini were raised. No radar arch on the F-28 but I am already planning on relocating to the rear o...

F-28 Blower/Blowers

I have new to me 79' F-28 and was wondering if I should be looking for one Blower, or two. I've searched and found info on other models but I haven't found any on the F-28. I think I know where one is behind the wall on the starboard side in the salon because, I see a vent cover that I assume is for...

Re: Prop Shaft

Yep, I even put the key in. Thanks again for suggesting the split coupling. That thing is on good and tight.

Re: Prop Shaft

I replaced the old coupler with a new split type coupler and there was a huge difference in the fit. The old coupler was quite worn and would slip on and off with ease, while getting the new one on was quite a chore. I finally got the shaft and coupler lined up perfectly and it took several blows wi...

Re: Prop Shaft

Thanks for the reply Prowler I think I will get the split couplings to be on the safe side. It looks like that would be easier to insert the shaft and make sure it is all the way in, then crank it down tight. When we inserted the shaft the last time it definitely was not close to a press fit.

Prop Shaft

Headed out for a test hit on the water and didn't get halfway out of the slip and the port side prop shaft slipped out of the yoke on the v-drive. Kind of like getting a flat tire in your driveway the location was the only bright side to the situation, that and no apparent damage. My son went into t...

Re: F28 Thru Hull Fittings

It is above the water line and directly beside the one from the sink drain. There is another thru hull well above the water line near the sewer holding tank pump out that the PO had plumbed to the portable toilet. The toilet had another larger line that looks to go to the pump out line above the hol...

Re: Lunaire AC Recharge

As Big D suggested take a look at the coils of your evaporator, after 30 years they collect a lot of dust. You can buy coil cleaner that you spray on and the condensation will wash it off, or you can hose it off if you have good access to it without water being a problem. Also, take the squirrel cag...

F28 Thru Hull Fittings

Does anyone have a diagram showing the thru hull fittings and what they are tied to? I can see where most of them are connected but I think some have been changed by previous owners. One issue I have is the shower drain pump is missing and the drain line is open ended in the bilge, but there is also...

F28 Fuse Panel.jpg If I attached it right you can see the back of my fuse panel. In one circuit you can see one of the previous repairs, it is a very small nut and bolt sticking thru the back side. If the nut is loose both sides of the fuse are hot but the wire is not, tighten the nut and she works...
