I installed a new dedicated generator start battery (now isolated)
all is well

Prowlersfish You are the second no answer I got But I am not convinced I have very limited knowledge when it comes to electricity There are a lot of Trojan owners here on the forum and I suspect a lot have Onan mcck generators I can't be the only one with this problem Also, (this may be rhetorical) ...

I am wondering if there is a way to have the genset starter battery hooked up
to the charger but disconnect automatically as soon as the genny starts

my battery box looks like the photo
the 31's are about 1" longer than the 27's and about 1/2" higher
I had no problem getting the 31's to fit but I just realized the 24 is probably not being held down properly

I have an 89 mid cabin so specs are probably the same
for start batteries I have group 31
and for the genny I have a group 24 not sure if a group 27 would fit
