Re: Velvet Drive replace rebuild?

My hat is off to you for doing it yourself! I didn't have the kahunas to attempt it! Lol! Although I know it wasn't "easy" to pull AND reinstall it, if you find you have an issue I have no doubt that you will be able to easily step back and sort it out. Very nice work! (Just make sure this...

anyone want a lunaire 16k air conditioner?

I have my old lunaire AC that I removed from my boat. it was working when I pulled it but cant make any promises since its been sitting for 7 years in my shop. it has reverse cycle heat and digital controls. it does not have the water pump (used it with the new unit). Didnt know if anyone would want...

Re: Velvet Drive replace rebuild?

Not sure how much room you have in your 11 meter but I would think two people should be able to muscle it out. I was able to attach mine to the blocks by myself but they weren't in the bilge at the time. only 4 bolts hold the bell housing to the block and you will need to disconnect the lines to the...

Re: Kohler Generator spark plug question

Jamie ,
I read someplace online to use that plug with the sound enclosure. I'll pick a set up and try they. I can always try the other ones as well if i t runs rough.
Thanks again!

Re: Kohler Generator spark plug question

I have a small dental pick with a 90deg bend on the end. I'll carefully stick in in the plug hole and get a thickness on the head just to be sure.
Mine is a Kawasaki Jamie. Any idea what the difference is between the 4es vs the 4hs???

Re: Kohler Generator spark plug question

Just spent 3 hours researching these dam plugs! Couldnt find a definitive answer but Jamie bpr4hs came up as well as the bpr4es . apparently there is know way to find out if you have a bs04 or and as04 gen??? guess I will try the longer plugs and await the sound of a smooth running generator or the ...

Re: Kohler Generator spark plug question

I haven't found any info suggesting the champions are the correct plugs and have had no luck cross referencing them. I have a pretty good hunch that the previous owner used what he had laying around. Having trouble getting the generator started after setting for 7 years. Not getting fuel so I believ...

Re: Upper Rudder Support Replacement

Barrie and Christian, Do yourself a favor and take a bunch of pictures of everything from different angles. I referenced old pictures quite a bit and wish I took more from various angles. also dont throw anything away until your finished, even the rotted stuff. I was told that before my renovation a...

Kohler Generator spark plug question

Does anyone know what the correct NGK spark plug would be for a kohler 5E 5kw generator? I bought the gen used and have around 80 hrs on it. It always ran good when I used it so I never changed the plugs that were in it. I ordered plugs about a year ago from a online generator supply sight. the new ...

Re: shaft packing question

Thanks Guys. I had always put a loop on and then gently screwed the nut to seat it , unscrew and repeat. I like the idea of using a "ram" to seat them. I think Ive read every article on pbase.com, a ton of good info on his site! he's not too hot on the gfo packing because of possible corro...

Proposed Ethanol increase !?!?!?

Just got this email from boat us. This is not what boaters need! July 13, 2015 Dear BoatU.S. Member- The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is asking for comments on a proposal to increase the amount of ethanol that must be blended into the nation’s fuel supply for 2015 and 2016. If adopted, th...

Re: shaft packing question

Thanks Guys, I've always done my packing prior to launch but it sounds like im about to do it in my slip! I'm hoping since the current packing has only been in there for an hour and a half of run time, it will come out easily. I bit the bullet a few years ago and purchased the flexible, packing remo...

Re: shaft packing question

Any suggestions for doing it while in the slip?? thinking a few wraps of gorilla tape would slow the water down enough for me to pick out the packing and install new. if not i was thinking of grabbing my dive gear and taping it up from underwater.
