Re: Bomb Cyclone

Hi Just got word that my friends left Sandy Hook early this morning for Cape May. They ran into bad weather and made the correct decision to bail. They made it safely inside via Barnegat Inlet which they said presented no problems on their approach. I had noticed some negative posts elsewhere on the...

Bomb Cyclone

Hi All, One of my best friends and his wife are on their way south, cruising to their eventual destination in the Bahamas from Kingston Ontario. They got a late start due to a long list of personal preparations and the usual final boat fit up. Last Thursday, they were just north of New York City on ...

Re: WOT

Away! Are you my twin? I'm 70, live in Ontario, am good with wood and like you I tend to never open up my throttles. Don't know about you but I don't seem to suffer many mechanical failures nor run over things either and I think my slowpoke style is part of that :) But I have had to run from a storm...

Re: Farewell To A Beautiful Lady

Supposedly the two happiest days of a " boaters" life is the day we buy'em and the day we sell'em......... unless we love them. Well Big D - I am feeling your pain. I suppose we won't be missing you because you'll still be around, which is great but I'll miss those Big Blue 440's. You have...

Re: My First Boat - 1997 Trojan 390 Express - Caught between 2 worlds

Re: What’s your spreed at 32-3400 rpm s and wot? Todd, I hate to admit it but I have no idea. I've only had it wide open once. If running hard I'm still slightly under three thousand rpm. Tell you what, I'll get out within the next week and find out the answers. I'm like the farmer who drives around...

Re: My First Boat - 1997 Trojan 390 Express - Caught between 2 worlds

Very interesting indeed, Todd. The draft on the 370 that Carver built and I now own is a very deep 4' 2", so it's even deeper than the 10.8 was. Nobody in my marina needs as much water as I do. I know you've been around the 370 hull while dry-docked and you probably noticed the downward angle o...

Re: My First Boat - 1997 Trojan 390 Express - Caught between 2 worlds

Todd, do you think there was any truth to the thought that Carver was facing a royalties issue to Bertram if they utilized the Trojan mould of the 10.8 and as a result, built a new hull which featured enough modification as to avoid legal issues................ or do think that explanation was just ...

Re: My First Boat - 1997 Trojan 390 Express - Caught between 2 worlds

Hi Todd, Todd, I have a question you may be able to help with. I think that Bob wasn't referring to the 10.8 hull as having that coring problem but rather he was talking about the Carver-built "Trojan 370" hull. I was under the impression that the Carver-built 370 hull was totally re-desig...

Trojan 370/390/410 hulls

Hi Everyone, I guess August is ticking away - say it's not so. Hope all is well. Bob, I own a 1994 370. The coring issue your friend is experiencing is rather surprising to me. Before I signed the cheque, I hired two unrelated surveys on the boat which included drilling holes in my hull to check and...

"Bow Steer" is something we've probably all experienced to some degree at some point. No fun and point well taken David. Couldn't agree more.

Dog House, this is a sad story. Too bad. Hopefully you'll be back with replacement ride sometime soon.

Re: Storage stands for 370

Hi Donald,

Conrats on your purchase

I'm in Canada and own the same boat. Same year. Great boat. Built by Carver but that's a long story. We consider them to be Trojans.

Personal message me and I will send you photos of my boat in winter storage.

Cheers

Rick
