The 2 powerboats I know of that have installed inverters do not have them wired into the entire boat. Wired mainly for the refrigerator. Sailboats are another story. I had one and I removed it and rely on shore power or the generator.

The tank should have nothing to do with the dock water pressure. The water pump acts like a check valve so the dock water does not go to the tank. or at least it should. Is the pump working normally?

There is a pressure regulator for shore water that may limit your pressure.

As Larry said it is a cutlass bearing. While it can be replaced with the strut and shaft in place with the right tool. I Prefer to remove the strut when possible.
