Re: New F32 Owner tips on Vberth and Screen Door

Our boat came with fitted sheets that seem to work very well. They are sewn to fit the individual cushions for the v-berth and have draw strings on the bottom with cord locks instead of elastic. We use a king size sheet on top, or when it is cold, twin comforters (apparently I would steal a king siz...

Re: Whats your boats range and your range

If I reported the fuel burn at displacement speeds, you wouldn't believe me. OK, I am interested, please post! I selected 40 mile cruise, as that is our normal max on an average weekend, though we often only go a few miles because we have a slip in the area we like to cruise in (Rhode River). That ...

If you can't find something that will fit, CR Laurence (http://www.crlaurence.com/default.aspx) will have everything you need to build a door from scratch.

Barrie, after the hatch replacement you did with hydraulic assist, I don't think you need to make any excuses for your boat!

Re: 10 meter international swim platform

If plywood is being used as a core, you can also soak it in a penetrating epoxy to make it much less susceptible to rotting. I recently saw that Jamestown Distributors came out with their own line of epoxies including a penetrating one. They are marketed under the Total Boat brand name -- I have not...

Re: Hull wax - 10 Meter Mid Cabin

+1 on 3M buffing and polishing compounds. I use a 9" circular buffer with wool pads for this. I have had good luck with Meguiars Flagship wax. It goes on quick and buffs easily, and seems to last pretty well. I have been wanting to try Collinite but still have some Flagship to burn through. I u...

They have your boat on their site: http://lescompositesmabernard.com/trojan-36-1987/

I am rebuilding part of our swim platform due to captain error  , but we may want a larger one sometime down the road.

Yours looks nice!

Re: ACT Paint color

$160 per gallon for PCA Gold is a great deal -- thanks for posting Paul! That is the same price I got last year on sale and hard to beat when Ultima SR-40 is going for $50-100+ more. If you are buying a few gallons, that really adds up. Last year they were using 50% copper since Irgarol had been ban...

Re: Made a new dinghy cover!

Really nice work! I like all the details that take it from a simple cover to a masterpiece. We have a 11 1/2' aluminum floor inflatable with a 20HP 2-stroke Merc that looks a lot like the one in the photos. What a blast to play with! We also have a 6hp Merc that will not plane with me in it, but it ...

Re: ACT Paint color

+1 on the blue West Marine PCA Gold. I believe it is a private label of Petit Ultima SR-40. We are going on one year in the water with ours and planning on staying in for two years before pulling the boat and putting on another coat. The previous owner of our boat was going three years with annual h...

Re: F36 Convertible Sliding Door Track

Here are a couple of photos of our door track. The wear at this end of the track is much less than at the other end. As you can see, the top of the rail is basically flat. What you cannot see is that the rail for the screen door is identical to that of the sliding door, except it has no wear. My pla...
