Good advice but a tragedy. All of us northern boaters need to heed the water temperatures when we launch. Up our way the water can be in the 40s and low 50s until the end of May. Doesn't take much for hypothermia to set in, and if you go over when you're alone you're fish food in just a few minutes....

It sounds like it's voltage regulator not kicking in the charge at low rpms. Mine has the same issue, but when I "goose" the throttle in neutral the charging rate kicks in and stays in at low rpms unless I put a load on it (like bilge blower). Then I "goose" it again, and things ...

Did you try the Beacon Marine site, or try contacting them? I think they either have the tracks or can point you in the right direction.

Sounds like a plan. Check out the Atwoods along with the Raritans. You can always add the exchanger lines later. The tankless ones sound great but the heat rise is very low for the amount of power. Have a friend who installed one in his houseboat and the water gets "sorta" warm, but nothin...

I had my marina install an 11 gal Atwood HWH. My cost was $400 and another $200 for installation (they had to remove the port exhaust manifold, the holding tank and the old water heater, replumb and new wiring). Option was to do it myself, but I'm too fat and too old to make those kind of contortion...

Mine is mounted inside the bottom of the hull just to the right of the engine about 12" from the bulkhead between the engine and cabin. It's for a Garmin GPS/sounder and I get pretty good readings.

Went in yesterday. Could have gone in a week earlier but our docks were still not fully deployed due to extremely high water levels hampering anchor setting, etc. Moved the boat over to the slip in a deluge, but the good news there was no wind....a real treat for once, since my usual procedure this ...

Joan Just emailed you concerning gutters, but here's a couple of good sources for boat building and maintenance: Jamestown Distributors (http://www.jamestowndistributors.com) and Defender Marine (http://www.defendermarine.com). IMO any penetrating epoxy should provide a temporary fix for the transom...

Glad you're up and about, Larry. Hope the bump in the road wasn't too big a one. We had a scare yesterday about the dam that hold our lake. It was built in 1929-30 as a flood control measure for the lower Hudson River as well as a hydro project. Seems they "lost" 2 feet of water a couple o...

No offense to our Canadian members intented, but your national bird is a rat with wings. The damned things have totally pooped up a small island on our lake that used to be a great place to anchor and have kids play in the sand. Now the get to frolic in piles of goose crap. It used to be sort of nic...

To add a note of sanity to my post on the Honda generator....I too have CO monitor mounted to the center "ceiling" of the hardtop. It's gone off a couple of times, both times when we've been underway in a storm and had all the canvas up in the cockpit area. I think the CO monitor is a must...

This is some good stuff! Whoever gets it done first try posting some pictures to share. Great idea, even for us puny F26 owners. It would be great to have a view of the engine compartment underway. Last year I blew a hose coupling on my trim tabs and spewed hydraulic fluid all over the the muffler. ...

Not if you know how to handle the expansion of plastics and which sealants to use. There are some really good posts on window replacments (plastic and glass) on this forum.
