Re: f 26 windshield wiper installation

There are also pressed fit arms, ones with a spring loaded clip, and ones with a bolt on the side that clamps the arm to the shaft. What's the condition of the motor shaft? Are the splines still intact? If it's worn or corroded, a press on arm won't stay on.

Re: gelcoat 1974 tri cabin

If there is a fiberglass supplies shop near you, they usually have the equipment to come out and do a scan of your gelcoat color and will mix a batch for you. It'll be the closest you'll get over anything off the shelf.

Re: MCCK Generator nameplate location

If I recall, the spec plates were mounted on the flywheel and belt cover, this seems to be the first thing that goes missing and with it the info plate. I think the serial number is also stamped on the top of the block just behind the base of the lifting ring.

Re: 10 meter mid cabin fuel starve

+1 Another good test is checking fuel system vacuum. A good diagnostic tool to use in this situation is a digital vacuum meter on the suction side. Maximum vacuum should be 2 inches of mercury at idle otherwise you risk reduced volume, vapor lock, collapsing weak hoses, etc. Any restriction in the s...

If you have mechanical advance distributors, check to see if the advance mechs are working freely and not binding when they need to spring back.

Re: Onan mcck 6.5 not charging start battery.

If I recall correctly, there is a charging circuit fuse on the unit's panel that should be your first check. I believe those have a rectifier and a separate winding or tap for the charging circuit. A wiring diagram would help here. Pretty sure the output on those was 5 or 10 amps max. Check all conn...

Re: F36 stringer repair

The problem with trying to slide the core into a channel is that you have to apply a glass layer on both sides of the inner walls for proper adhesion. That's next to impossible to do and keep those layers in place while you slide the core in as this has to be done while it's still wet. You also can'...

Re: F36 stringer repair

Ideally you want to get rid of all the moist wood. If you don't, you will not get a good bond between it and the new wood, and it'll be a weak joint which will likely delaminate. That will eventually lead to movement and other issues. Once encapsulated, you'll also be trapping that moisture in there...

Re: Trim Tabs Trojan

This forum is a great resource indeed! I was wondering if anybody had added drop fins to their F series. If so,what were their impressions. I could not find this during my search. perhaps no one has. I suspect you're talking about an interceptor or vertical plate trim systems. They're a good system...

Re: prop spin

I have the same issue, and found it the same way... However, I also have a small crack in a freeze plug just outside the flywheel diameter. Water comes out, and sprays the clutch and i believe is the cause of the clutch dragging. (corrosion in the springs??) I'm not exactly sure what to do about th...
