Re: 1979 F28 Wood Interior
Thanks guys for the replies. I do believe the floor was done by a previous owner. It looks like oak wood flooring from the grain, and is in pretty good shape. I think most of the paneling is a veneer but I am not familiar enough with teak to make that assumption. From ya'lls replies it sounds like t...

1979 F28 Wood Interior
Can someone tell me what type of wood was used in the interior? Also, what refinishing products do you recommend? MIne is in decent condition but very coarse and dull. Attached are some pictures for reference. Thanks in advance for any comments. 20180415_165046.jpg 20180415_165058.jpg 20180415_16501...

Can't Find Neutral
I have a Paragon transmission. The other day I was adjusting a leaky prop shaft stuffing box and had my son put the transmission in forward to check the drip rate and then reverse. While slowly shifting from forward to reverse, he paused in the neutral position and the shaft slowed but did not fully...

Re: Interesting Trojan Story
My question is has anyone reversed the scoops so that the leading scoop is facing forward allowing air to enter and turned the scoop at the stern rearward so that it would allow air to escape but minimize the chance of water being scooped in? That is the way the vents are on my '79 F32. Forward ven...

Re: Interesting Trojan Story
One thought is that if the seas are high enough to enter that scoop they probably would come over the rail anyway. While I agree with that, the consequences of water entering at those two locations is different. Water coming through the vents goes directly into the engine compartment. Water coming ...

That is an interesting story and I am sure there are conflicting opinions on the actual sinking. Re: A PNW Trojan!! ??
Pester away if you get it, it will be nice having another 28 owner to help figure things out with. However, I did notice an error in my previous post the fuel tanks are only 50 each for a total of 100. Sorry for that mistake.

Re: A PNW Trojan!! ??
Nice looking F28! On mine there is a tag on top of the intake manifolds that gives the engine model, size, serial numbers, etc. Mine has two 318's, 225 HP ea. The two tanks you see in the engine compartment are freshwater tanks, the fuel tanks are located in the mid bilge area, just forward the engi...

Re: F28 props
Larry,
I actually bought the boat from him about a month ago but I have to say the wheel is working fine. He mentioned replacing it and told me he had a few parts from your salvage boat. In fact I picked up the exhaust manifolds and risers from him last week.

Oh I see, well if you get to a point and need a hand I am not too far away in Mesquite/Sunnyvale. I think you know the previous owner of my F28, he is TexasTrojanF28 on here.

Don't shoot me for resurrecting an ancient thread. I have been reading thru the previous threads pretty deep to get all the info I can. The reading has been educational and entertaining. Thanks to all that contribute and pass on there knowledge and experience! Larry, I was wondering how the 14/9's a...

Re: 1972 F-36 Port Motor Problem
It sounds like trash in one of the tanks being picked up from time to time. I like Prowler's suggestion to swap the carbs then you can work your way back towards the tank if the problem stays with the port motor. Probably should replace the inline filter when you replace the water separator just to ...
