Re: 1987 10 meter mid cabin complete restoration.
I hope my post didn't seem condescending... But I have been catching up on your thread and you really like working on that boat! Holleys aren't for everyone, but they are pretty idiot proof which is what makes them a great application for a cruiser. I replaced my finicky rochesters with 4175's about...

Re: 1987 10 meter mid cabin complete restoration.
I found a place to rebuild my Qjets to factory specs (as per the engine rebuild book). I then proceed to look up the serial numbers on the carbs. one was made in 1978 the other was 1986? after reading the book that Bobct gave me I also found out that the 1986 carb was a California emissions carb wh...

Re: crusader model 350 (454) spark plug
The owner of the boat I work on uses the AC Delco MR43T . They are a touch cooler than the spec plug, but apparently it is better for slow speed trolling. I think the spec is MR44T. IMO, I think you will not see much difference in performance or reliability between any of the major brands (NKG, Cham...

Re: Winterizing idea/question
It's a big yard... About 1 city block. There are two yards like that and they are both about another city block from the buildings where the water is. Luckily there is an electrical outlet on every fence post... I've been thinking of doing something like this... http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj...

Re: Winterizing idea/question
That's an interesting video and well informative... In my situation, the yard that the boat gets stored has no water service which is why I circulate the water/antifreeze like I do. I always get one last top-off of fuel before I haul out and I add my stabil at that time. It's well circulated by the ...

Re: Max Weight / Body Count on an F32
Mine was used and will be used as a charter boat designated as an "Uninspected Passenger Vessel." A UPV can have a maximum of 6 passengers plus a captain and a mate. It regularly fished 8 people in up to 4 foot waves without issue.

Re: Winterizing idea/question
...I prefer to have the antifreeze take exactly the same route that the raw water takes to ensure every inch of the circuit is covered including pump, oil coolers, etc. It also ensures that none will run into the exhaust side of the manifold. +1 I set up a 20 gallon bin right under the exhaust and ...

Re: Look what I found!
That's a good thing to find for sure . FWIW 318s where 225 hp and the 360s where 250 hp . hopefully you still have the 360s . Easy mistake by the surveyor as the look the same . Enjoy the new boat . The 318 was a popular motor in it's time. I had a '78 Chrysler when I was a teen with a 318. That mo...

Re: Engine synchronizer
I was actually thinking of pulling my tachs and replacing one of them with a dual-tach/flow meter. I was trying to figure out what to put into the other hole.... Maybe a 3" synch or another combo unit.

I may be willing to trade, or give you mine. I find them rather distracting and I am honestly better at doing it by ear.

Look what I found!
I was rummaging through a bin of stuff I brought home from my new-to-me F32 and found this! I was impressed to see some of the factory documentation hand written. You sure don't see that anymore. The manual looks just about complete; there are a few electrical schematics in the back. I would like to...

Re: Window shade color thoughts
I'm not adverse to the canvas on the front windshield and I have already mentioned this it is probably my best choice. It's expensive however; I had a quote of $800 to do my previous boat and it was a 28'. I like gettaway's approach... And it seems cost effective. The rear shade is a no go as it wil...
