Re: What I did with my boqt this weekend.
stainless would worry me, i prefer blocks as they have some give helping protect the gell coat from stress cracks. might I add that the blocks dont need to be so huge they dont sit flush to the hull. Im speaking from experience on this one when I say bigger isn't always better

Re: Tri cabin hardtop, 1975 36ft
she sank a few days ago, i suspect the dock water/hose was and may still be turned on to the boat and something let go filling her with water till she sank. Coast Gaurd was there 4 days ago and the said no injuries, impacts minimal, investigating cause https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/15134711...

Re: Portable generator questions
I believe thats his plan to buy those accessories and mount it below deck, im not sure. I question where he would mount it its only 26ft, its 1 1999 Cruisers rogue, single big block, there cant be a ton of room, maybe he has other plans to have a mount on the swim platform or under a seat? I'll have...

Re: Portable generator questions
I didn't read anything on the companion model, I bought a regular one for $970 3 years ago and its been great. I dont see a need to research the newer models at this time, I expect mine to last many more years and do not plan on mounting it in the boat. I like how much room ive freed up and weight r...

Re: Portable generator questions
Love my Honda EU2000i, they now make one specifically for boats with a shore power plug called and EU20001 Companion that my friend got for his 26 Cruiser rogue and he plans to get the accessorizes to plumb it into his boat fuel tank and have the exhaust out of a thru hull. He uses his constantly ru...

Re: Shipping Costs for Trojan F30 Express
try UShip.com, its similar to Ebay where shippers can bid the lowest. The concept is great IMO, shippers can detour from a route, not come back empty etc and it can save some $$$ on your end. You can pick between bids and get a good licenced business. I myself had a shipping company, and on a person...

Re: Water to the head – 1987 8.6 Meter Express
just removed my thru hulls on my F32, the raw water flush set up it had smells too rancid for me as the holding tank odor, im adding a water tank as on longer trips im worried about carrying capacity if I plumb my head into the existing tank...thats one thing I keep an eye on for showers as is. Thei...

Re: F32/F36 Upper Station Console
over the weekend I went looking at F32's, one in particular listed for sale was a disaster and should only be a parts boat, its up here in Rhode Island. I was able to talk my friend out of buying it and found him a much better starting/project boat for just $2,500. I need parts and as do my friends,...

Re: ac install
ive toyed with the idea of putting AC in my F32, however i doubt id ever use it. 2 friends who dont often leave the marina have put stand up units in their salons maybe thats an option instead? My friend has a Silverton 37, he removed his AC unit for lack of use and wanted the space, the factory had...

Re: Fuel tank replacement
As the season comes to an end ive decided to begin planning on hauling out the boat early and starting my project before it gets too cold. Today I was crawling around my aft deck area and inspecting the construction. Im thinking, and wondering if my best attempt may be to rip up the plywood/teak str...
