[quote="El L Sea"]Our February in SW Florida has been rough as well. Stayed on the boat last weekend and had to run the A/C the whole time.
Well! that was just mean!

Re: Project "Tri Fly"
Thanks Misty for the comments and the Star wars review LOL. Hope your disease passes quickly! I have yet to finish (stain and seal) the cut raw edges on the floor but at least you can see where I'm going with this. That hatch was a real head scratcher, I actually misplace it for a few months and had...

Everyone is invited for drinks when it hits the water, of course you have to come to Ontario, Lake Erie..... might not be worth the drinks!

Re: Project "Tri Fly"
Very nice! Did you add the hydraulic dampers for the hatch or were they already there? Those hinges are from a Volkswagon Passat trunk lid. $20 at the wreckers :) The hatch is practically weightless with them. The best part is they lift straight up about 1" before the hatch hinges back. I adde...

Re: Project "Tri Fly"
I have some progress to report I’ve been slowly working my way across the salon with the ash hardwood that’s been acclimatizing for a year in the boat. I have the counter tops all in and grouted and the backsplash also done. Check out my hatch of doom! http://i1362.photobucket.com/albums/r696/barr...

Re: About to replace Exhaust Gasgets
A trick I learned in my muscle car days with headers that always leaked. I cut the holes for the bolts into slots through the bottom of the gaskets so you don't have to remove the manifolds or studs completely. When the gaskets are cut this way all you do is loosen the bolt/nut 1/4" lift out the...

Oh you're right Mr Maniac, they can be real trouble when they come lose. They put those things where you'll never get at them.

Re: Project "Tri Fly"
Hi Barrie, Looks like you are progressing well on your project. Question, I plan on refinishing the flybridge teak sole on my F36 and was curious weather the helm seat base nuts would fall down onto my headliner when I remove them or are they secured to the back up board? Also, do you have a good e...

Re: Project "Tri Fly"
Hey Barrie, good to see you on track! Winter can be cruel up there! Some thoughts... Above your sink near the fan and upper right corner was a drip spot for me. (flybridge bolt overhead too) Make sure those are sealed up tight unless you like green fur mold on your breakfast cereal, party crackers ...

Re: Teleflex Syten to SeaStar upgrade
Hi Captain, my Tri fly has of course the chain and rod system. Would it be a big job to change it over to the teleflex.....or even possible. If even possible I would not likely tackle it till next winter. Hey I'm going to the Toronto show as well! Looking for a vacuflush system for the boat. It wil...

Re: Project "Tri Fly"
Thanks Barrie. Yes, the Vacuflush is the cats meow. A word of caution though, advise all landlubbers to be careful with your system. We had a guest try to flush an enormous amount of toilet paper combined with a rather large bowel movement. It didn't turn out well. The hole in the bottom of the hea...
