Re: taking care of teak
Nope, but I don't have much teak so it's no biggie to reapply oil once a month or so.

Re: My 84 10 Meter International
A few more current pictures. Currently am having issues with port motor not starting. Have changed the distributors from points to an MSD units, changed plug wires, and added fuel to carb but will not start. Have fire at the plugs. Not sure what is going on with that. Going to check timing chain thi...

Re: My 84 10 Meter International
Well, Things are progressing very well. Took her out the other day and have some sort of loss of power issue with port motor. I'll check that out next weekend. Main question: When I start the generator it will not turn off by using the switches. I have to disconnect the battery. I tried the switch o...

Re: My 84 10 Meter International
Mine must not be hooked up then. I'll check on that the next couple nights.Flyboy wrote:he AC condesant drains into the shower sump. If you access the forward bilge at he base of your stairs you will see a black rubber hose running to the shower sump.

Re: My 84 10 Meter International
Is this ac pump supposed to be in a bracket? I can't imagine it's ok to be laying on the deck as hot as it gets. Also , where does the condensate supposed to drain to? I thought about putting a shower sump or run a line all the way to the aft bilge. http://i144.photobucket.com/albums/r185/coonash/Tr...

Re: My 84 10 Meter International
Think I would be ok with 8" fenders for raft ups? The boat doesn't have any right now and I don't need at marina the way shes is secured.
I was thinking buying 4 fenders and 2 18" buoys.
I have 8" fenders on the 27' sailboat I sold today.

Re: My 84 10 Meter International
a couple of comments: 1. Closing off the pillow locker in the forward compartment will go a long way to keeping the boat cool with the AC on. Can't, the door material is gone. I'll need to fab something at work 2. Same goes for the two large Lexan hatches - cover them to keep out the heat. Soon, I ...

Re: My 84 10 Meter International
Hijack away. This weekend I plan on doing lots of cleaning in the engine room. It sat with water in it for a while before the Marina took ownership of it. So lots of crud to clean out. Went by her yesterday because I was showing my sailboat to a potential buyer and the battery box has been rewired. ...

Re: My 84 10 Meter International
1. relocate it to what possible benefit? Easier maintenance, Get it out of the hot engine room. I was doing the same thing to my sailboat. 2. which 10 meter platform do you have, the original express platform, or the mid cabin platform? Original Express That said, I have successfully relocated the f...

Re: My 84 10 Meter International
I wasn't sure if it would fit under one of the seat. Just make an access hole. I'm not sure, but would like to get it out of the engine room if possible.Flyboy wrote:where would you move it to, there is not alot of excess space in the cabin.

My 84 10 Meter International
I decided to just start my own single thread to show my progress and ask questions as I go. I officially bought her about 2 weeks ago. Since then I have spent countless hours scrubbing all the mildew/mold from her sitting for 3 years. I now have both motors running and most electronics working. Curr...
