Low, don't toss it just yet. I'll measure my Bridge and see if I can make it work.

It looks like it is fiberglass. Should not be that hard to change the width, but the height would be difficult to change without affecting how it looks.

I might have gone for it if I hadn't already bought one...

I did get the top. It came in about 5 weeks after ordering. Unfortunately I'm still waiting on my mechanic to install it. I might be looking to do it myself shortly.

I recently purchased a 1986 Trojan Mid-cabin with a radar arch that sways while underway. It does not appear sturdy and quite frankly I have a feeling it will need repairs as I have found it has already had repairs due to inner wood rot back in 2009.

I may be interested in yours. A quick switch-a-roo may be less expensive than a repair. Can I get back to you on this?

Sure. I did notice that while it was still on the boat it did have a little give if you pushed it side to side. Not sure if this is normal or signs of it going.

I looked at several trojans before buying mine.
And they all had rotten arches
The plywood doesnt hold up well over the years when there are hundreds of holes in it all seeping water.

Category 4 Hurricane Charley damaged my arch in 2004.

We removed it, yanked all the wood out of it and glassed in two square aluminum tubes, at the leading and trailing edges of the arch.

The square tubing was curved on a machine to fit inside the arch.

The tubes connected to flat aluminum plates on the bottom sides - also glassed in.

the woodless arch is now more solid than when it was new.

The problem is the factory never added weep holes. The water gets into the arch and has no way to drain out. When I recored mine, I epoxied every inch of exposed would and routed a couple of "u" shaped channels on each side. I can occasionally see a dirt line after it rains so I know they are working. Otherwise the water is just trapped.

For those of you that still have solid wood, I would at least remove all the caulk on the bottom of the arch where it meets the hull. It usually the bottom 10-12" on each side that rot away but a couple of people have had rot up top. The side are a relatively easy fix but you have to remove the arch.
