I guess most folks think since the levels are so high, they won't hit anything. The problem is the structures that were clearly visible above water that are now below water and not marked are being hit at cruising speed. Be careful out there.
Let alone all the extra shore-based debris that has been picked up and is now floating around, out there, somewhere....

Perhaps a bit out of context for the thread, but perhaps not... water levels are more 'normal' now, in that they have dropped about 2' from the highs. Only took all season... my haul out is booked for just over 3 weeks from now!

But just to show how crazy weather is this year -- great lakes levels higher than ever, ultra-scary hurricane season happening right now, throw in a few earthquakes recently just for fun -- and THIS WEEKEND, the FIRST WEEKEND OF AUTUMN, IN CANADA, we are at 90F during the day in south central Ontario!!! With humidex we are at 105F. We have a HEAT WARNING in effect!

Summer finally showed up! Let the season begin

Water level in Lake Simcoe is too low now IMO. Don't know how you go from too much to not enough in one season. I guess they have to get it to a certain level to account for Spring runoff next year but still frustrating. It would be great if getting it to that level could be accomplished only after boating season is over.

It will go back down again. I remember Lake Michigan being up like that after a few mild winters and everyone was blaming global warming and environmental disasters. Then it dropped 8 feet and everyone was blaming global warming and environmental disasters. Then it came back up to normal levels and everyone was blaming global warming and environmental disasters.

Here we go again!

A view of the main pier (shown in earlier pic entirely under water 2 years ago), pier edges already broached and another few inches and we are fully submerged again.

There are are these shots of the dock beside the launch ramp and the fuel dock also shown in an earlier pics from 2017... Again, another few inches and that's under water. At least this time, hopefully nobody is stuck in their boat shed as the waters rise!
