Vetus Wiper Motor Replacement

Has any one tried removing one of these from the windshield frame? Mine are on a 12 Meter. I have the one with a double arm wiper and I can't figure out how to get the second arm off of the spindel. The one motorized spindle connects to one of the blades with a small allen screw, that came off easy. The other non motorized spindel I can't get to come off. No sign of an allen screw on this one. Any hints are appreciated.

I googled the thread title and soon found myself at a catalog of vetus wiper motors, including installation diagrams. What model do you have?

Helpful? I dunno.

Use an inspection mirror to look at the underside of the arm where it attaches to the stud. Is there a clip that you slide toward the wiper? In the past I have used a cotter pin remover like this: https://www.amazon.com/cotter-pin-remov ... %20remover to slide said clip toward said wiper end on my tricab.

Thanks for the links. It looks like the second arm is held on by a bolt from the inside...thus the "screwing" action. Mine looks corroded, so I'll be drilling it out or using the Sawzall.
Hopefully I can then soak it and get the remaining part of the bolt out so I don't need to replace the arms.

Maybe you can spray some Kroil or PB Blaster on that bolt and try a wrench before you start destructing it.

Do you have a photo of what you are looking at? We might be able to help more if you would post some.

This is the piece I need to get out, I tried to unscrew it but the head snapped off.

If I can unscrew the dummy wiper arm from this, then I might be able to save it.
They give you a new one of these parts with the order of a brand new set up double wiper arms.

Upon a closer look, I didn't realize there was a part of this that spins, I thought that the whole thing was one piece.

When I got it home last night the motor was frozen. Took off the end cap and tapped out the rust that was in there and it started to turn right away.
There are 4 terminals, G =ground 1=park, 2=turtle 3=rabbit. Park simply turns the motor just enough to get the blade to end up all the way left or all the way to the right. Whomever wired it had it wired to 1, so it would have never turned on anyway. That makes me think that the motor probably doesn't have much use. I might get some extra life out of it.
Given that the 12 Meter dash only has a single push button on/off, I need to pick turtle or rabbit and I'll have to time it just right to get the wiper blade to park where I want it too. Vetus shows a 4 position switch that is needed to operate this motor.

One other item, the window washer plumbing was removed. There is a rubber hose that runs in the track along with the wires. The spray fittings are missing does anyone know what these look like? Due to space limitations, I'm guessing the starboard one was a T and the port one was a 90-degree fitting since the hose runs up from the starboard side of the windsheild track. When I push the washer button water comes out of the track so I bet someone forgot to winterize this. The fittings are missing.

For the 12 meter folks who have the decorative or protective covers, you need to drill weep holes in the covers to let water drain out. The original covers were meant for vertical installations. The weep holes that come with the unit are useless when these are mounted on a 45 degree angle, any water that gets in cannot get out and that is what was at the heart of my issue.
