I also had to replace the Schrader valve, as it was leaking ever so slowly.
What is the Schrader valve?
FWIW, When I pump it to 35 PSI it will keep the pressure for the whole day and maybe more, but the rudders don't turn unless I turn the wheel 15-20 times in one direction.

The Schrader Valve is the "bike tire" style air inlet on the top of the tank, normally on the stem to the guage.
