1985 11 Meter EX TAPE REMOVAL

Post by dmb5025 »

Guy's,
Starting to remove some of the smaller tape accents and have trouble with the yellow color under the tape. Looking for suggestion using some type of magic chemical that will dissolve this stubborn residue or what ever will work. Please all types of suggestions are welcome and thanks in advance.

Google "label eraser wheel".

And you can use just about any hydrocarbon except paint stripper on gelvoat. I have had good results with toluene and if you want to part with some money, Biosolve.

Also, We$t Marine sells plastic razor blades, particularly useful for this purpose.
I needed a less expensive hobby, so I bought a boat!

A heat gun can also help along with the plastic razor blades P-Dogg mentioned. Just be sure not to get the fiberglass too hot and catch it on fire!
