'89' trojan 12 meter express international questions

New here, so be easy on me.
Have been looking at one but it will need some TLC to get everything back to where it should be.
Wanted to check some things out before we spent money on a survey.
Was wondering if anyone would know what would be a direct replacement, "size wise" for the side by side refrigerator/freezer. This one has a lot of rust starting to appear inside the cavity.
Second question, supposedly a power surge hit very close to the marina where the boat is and it took out the thermostat by the dinette for the air/heat. Would anyone have any suggestions on what that complete OEM unit should be replaced with?
Just trying to figure things out before we take the plunge.

I can't help you on the fridge But on the AC , I believe it came with Cruse-air so I would go back with a cruse air thermostat . But doulble check there should be a name one on the stat . Also see if the fridge has a name and model on it .e

Also if this is a diesel boat I would reccamend a engine survey ( not cheap on a 671)

Fridge is probably the Sub-Zero 801RFD which they don't make anymore.
From Sub Zero when asked for a replacement:

Sub-Zero does not make a direct replacement for model 801RFD.

801RFD is a 36" wide, side-by-side undercounter refrigerator and freezer.
Model ID-36CI is an undercounter refrigerator and freezer drawer combination unit.
UC Undercounter models are available only as refrigerator or combination units. Two UC Undercounter models would be needed.
Cabinet modifications are needed, as the new units are taller. Two UC models installed together require an opening width of 48".
Water and electrical locations may need to be moved. Detailed installation specifications for the 801RFD are no longer available.
Panels do not work on new units.

Not a good solution. These units are expensive. I'd just repaint the inside.

tcollins2 has the right idea for the Subzero. Had the compressor in mine rebuilt and it was around $800. So... if the freezer side of yours gets below 20-ish and the refrigerator side keeps things cold then I'd sink money into other things.

My 1990 12M has a replacement main cabin AC unit (Taylor Made Model J16) but original controls (Marine Air Systems). AC guy said to replace it would be about $5k.

I'm one 6-71 TIB rebuild in with another set to go. I'm liking my 14' Alumicraft and 8hp Evinrude better and better... haha

Was in an appliance store over the weekend and saw this. Might be a candidate for the Sub-Zero 801RFD replacement.
Summit FFRF3075WSS. 30" wide vs 36" and no ice, and less $$. Height is 34" and depth is 23.75".
