Welcome aboard Wayne. If you can't find an original, try swimplatforms.com or contact Mark at Les Composites in Quebec 514-267-2737. Both these places can build from scratch. Also try Beacon Marine that run this site. If anyone can find an original, it's them or they may be able to steer you in the right direction.

I always thought the reason was because air costs less than anything else.....

THAT'S A GOOD REASON !!!

I always thought it was done intentionally in certain designs, such that when you come off plane, allowing the water to move through the swim platform attachment will not cause undue stress on the method of attachment

If someone would like to have my old teak swim deck with the original teak and stand I would be going to sell it.

I just did a template on my TEAK swim platform (10 meter)

Changing out to PLASTEAK

Just tired of Florida sun required sanding and varnishing

Doing the same on the bow pulpit

Keeping all the rest of the factory teak on the gunnels by having canvas covers made for protection
