Away wrote: Mon Jul 29, 2019 10:36 am Your Taft rails look like they have been neglected for about 20 years. Mine were not quite that bad. Tried the restoration products recommended. They did nothing. What's gonna work is (60 grit, 100 grit 150 grit then 220). Followed by several coats of CETAL as I mentioned previously.
The layers of muck and dirt and grime made them seem much more smooth and "finished" I thought I really messed up when I started scrubbing with the brush and it started flaking REALLY badly. My first thought was "this stuff is eating right through my rails!" but then I realized what a beautiful colour was coming through and all was well :P

I had been suggested to start with 120 grit, then finish with 220. But it definitely seems that 120 is too fine for it's current condition. I'll pick up the 60 and 100 as you recommend.

I can't wait to get it looking like yours!

I tried to look in to this yesterday but it ended up being built in to a box, in the storage walls in the salon. The box was fastened with a straight screwdriver, which I left in my car  Is it supposed to be boxed up from the inside? The hoses (if that's what they are called) are really dirty, and torn in several places. Adding that to my list of things. They do run from under the engines, and from the A/C unit on the other side. So it seems that might be what is going on there. Will take pictures when I get it opened up.
Post a photo of the AC too , if you can

The box is siliconed in tight. I'll have to bribe some muscle to get at it.

I may have been mistaken/misinformed about the AC meeting up in here. Seems the two hoses I was following don't actually connect behind the stairs.

The A/C is much easier to get at.

I agree I don't think that vent has anything to do with the AC. The box inside is likely put there by Trojan . the hose from the side that loops to the top is odd . Any one else have that ?

The wooden box on the port side encloses the forward vent that is on all the f32 models, someone has changed the outside appearance with the big box louvers.Imo, doesn't look very safe to me. This could be the which way should the vent louvers face ??? :P

The big hose is going down to the engine compartment. That is my take on it.

Yes, it is... is that bad? Should I be moving that? Surveyor didn't bat an eye at it :(

It's about 8 inches from the starboard engine.

We had a similar outlet in our engine room. The surveyor put it in the must repair category so I just removed it and hardwired a new battery charger.

I suspect the electrical panel with breaker is also not ignition protected.
