Swim Platform Support Arms

Hey gang,

Looking for alternatives to the (wooden) support arms I'm currently missing for the swim platform. All hardware is still there attached. Is stainless my best option? Not hauling until spring, but I'm trying to start the "to-do" list and gather misc supplies.

Thanks

Brian

I installed my swim platform about 20+ years ago. For support arms, I simply cut 7/8" or 1" (can't remember which) stainless tubing to desired length for each strut plus about 2" at each end. I then flattened each end in a vice, bent the flattened end about 45 degrees and drilled a hole, then ground the sharp corners.
The upper supports are 1/4" aluminum plate I had a machine shop 'break' to the correct angle, then I just chopped it into 4" sections.

It's held up in salt water for over 20 years.

Did the same thing as David for the aft supports. (They are actually the old Trojan railings cut down - waste not want not!)

Had Aluminum triangular supports made by a local welder for the transom supports.

Been going strong for 11 years now...no problems.

When I swapped out my swim platform, Beacon Marine had the necessary additional brackets :)
