Fuel Consumption 318 velvet drives

Is there any real benefit in changing from a 1:1 ratio to maybe 1:1.5 or 1:2.0?

It would be more efficient with a 1.5 to 1 , but not a great amount . A 2 to 1 would be to much as a F32 does not have room for a prop that would be large enough for 2 to 1 . Going from 1 to 1 to a reduction gear would involve moving the engine forward or shorting the shaft(s) ( or both) and of course larger props . A lot of work and $$$$ . Not worth it IMO
