What boat fridge do you use?

Can you guys tell me what type of fridges you use in your boat, and what you do to power them(amp draw?)?...DC only?..propane?..solar?..big battery banks??
My experience has only been with propane with my camper, I don't use a generator, but have been swapping RV batteries with the boat batteries as needed. Relying on the alternators on my main and kicker! One of the boat dealers I am talking to wants me to forget about propane and go DC only!
Relying on the motors and generators only! What can you say about counter-depth fridges? They have less available space but appear to cost significantly more. Today at the store there were two near-identical high-end fridges, and the counter-depth model was $200 more, expect to get payday loans for it.

Will I have to wean me off of propane??

You should have posted this in the boat section , maybe the mod will move it . I would Not use a propane fridge on a boat as its not safe . A AC/DC may be the best choice . But when on DC it will be a drain on the batteries so you need a way to keep them charged . I used a AC only my self . I of course have shore power and a generator . How do you plan on using it ? do you have shore power ? Generator ?

We have a Norcold AC/DC fridge. We run it off AC shore power and generator most of the time. On the hook, we turn the generator off at night, so it runs DC overnight. Draw is 3.2 Amps at 12 Volts DC, 2.2 Amps at 24 Volts DC, 0.4 Amps at 120 Volts AC. We like it and it has run well. Our insurance company will not allow propane on the boat, so that would never be an option for us for anything.

+100

even if yo run on DC you will need to charge those batteries

How much more coin to buy an AC/DC fridge or do an inverter and battery bank?

my $100 Sears fridge in the salon is now 17 years old - no problems

on my 2nd ULINE fridge/icemaker in the cockpit wetbar

Diesel genny runs at 1800 RPM and has a sound blanket - SUPER QUIET

Can't expound too much on how valuable that icemaker is to me :)

You can't have "on the rocks" without the rocks!

We use Midea WHD-113FSB1. I love this fridge. It has enough space to store enough food.
