Back light for guages

Post by HiredKiller »

I recently purchased a 1986 Trojan 11 Meter and am in the process of learning systems. Do the back lights for the gauges come on with the Nav lights switch?

My '88 12 meter has a separate switch.

I am actually in the process of converting them all to LED, and adding a dimmer switch.

Nothing seems to come on when I turn on the panel lights switch. There doesn't seem to be a Fuse/ Switch for panel lights at the main panel? I could not find any information on this in my owners manual.

My big problem was grounding issues, as the "backplane" of the gauge cluster acts and the ground for all the lights. The PO had done a bunch of weird stuff, so it was easier to kind of start from scratch with the original wiring diagram from Beacon.
