89 10 meter mid cabin packing

Does anyone know what size packing I need for the propeller shafts?
I Am thinking of using GFO
Any thoughts?

1/4” is the correct size. There’s a couple of great posts about GFO material. Some are older posts so try a google search on it.

Also make sure you check temps. I used GFO and it took some adjustments to get it right and break in time.

Great post about creating a ram to put the packing in

2 tools you need...a pick and hook set and a 1.25" piece of PVC cut in half-ish to create a ram. Makes life much easier.

And if your in the water don't fear the flood. It won't be that bad just work quickly bilge pump might kick on once.
