Help with fuel pump

Post by Cjones43420 »

Hi there, I am a new Trojan owner (f28-1976) and i am having an issue with my carberators not getting fuel. I, changed out the fuel filter, and I’m full on fuel, I was able to put a small amount into both carbs and both engines fired up. So now I’m thinking it’s the fuel pumps which I’ve taken off and looks to be the original oem parts. My next step is replacing them. Any insight from you guys would be greatly appreciated.. do you know the kind of pumps I should get? Or do you think it could be something else?

Could be a fuel pump , Did you check pressure and Vacuum ? Also plugged check valve at the tank bad pickup air leak in the lines can cause the issue . Valves turned on ?

Fuel pumps are good, now my starboard side engine will not crank over whatsoever. My port engine turns over with out a hitch. Also I’m not getting any fuel from my fuel tanks. I changed the lines and filter and still nothing. I have fuel in one tank but not the other. Could i possibly go with and electrical low flow fuel pump in addition?

Fuel in one tank and not the other ? Check and make sure the fuel valves are turned so your not pulling air out the tank without fuel . Did you check the ant-siphon valves at the tank ? the commonly plug up . You should not need a extra pump .

I would be very interested in the solution to your problem. I have a 76 F32 with 360's and especially when going back to idle at dock, they seeem to starve for fuel, like the pumps cannot supply.
