Hi, new guy here. Has anyone had a broken engine mount on a f-32? We broke one one a trip from Erie to Buffalo.Port engine front right block broke loose. In for repair at Dunkirk. I would have thought someone would design a steel mount over the crib for these big motors. Any thoughts boys and suggestions????

Hi, yes the stud broke. We were lucky just outside Dunkirk NY and mechanic on duty. Seems it didn't bend propeller shaft. Replacing seal on back of transmission tomorrow morning since it should arrive today thurs..Wasn't bad remounting engine to stringer but you would have thought they made a steel mount down there with all the stress involved. But should be finished Friday morning and will continue trip to Buffalo. I will consult a friend machinist about a steel mount for engine to stringer in future. Just wonder if any one else had an issue with this design. Wood does dry out and get brittle. We also have a 64 year old classic wood boat that we use too so we know a little about wood construction. Will post after last 34 miles of trip.

Update, Mechanic Josh from Holiday Harbor completed repairs. Earlier in boats life some one put in 3 inch galvanized lag bolts into stringer. That's what broke Engine shifted to center of keel. Damaged gear reduction box shafts . Ended up replacing whole transmission . Test run went fine. Dunkirk to Buffalo was smooth as ever. No vibrations at all plus smooth water on trip. This will end up a good boat. By the way, starboard engine bolts were correct 6 inch stainless lag bolts :D
