13 Meter Fresh water Pump location

Hello,
I post this question to anyone who knows the location of the freshwater pump in a 13 Meter Express. This is the pump for the sinks, head, shower, not the AC pump. Thought it would be in the bilge compartment in the galley but it's not (maybe it's missing). Nor is it in the main cabin compartment, that has the waste pump and it's not in the second staterooms bilge compartment, that is holding the AC pump. I haven't been able to search the engine compartment yet but I figured I'd post this to see if someone might have knowledge of where it should be.

Thanks,
Lumpy

Nice 13

would love to see more photos.

Unless someone with a 13 express chimes in, suggest you trace the fresh water lines from the sinks/head/etc backwards.

There's a place for the pump somewhere

These pumps are better at PUSHING as opposed to sucking.

Pump location likely closer to the fresh water tank.

This is probably useless info in your case, but my fresh water pump is under the floor (remove small hatch) in my cabin beneath one of the sections of the aft U shaped settee.............. close to my fresh water tank............ (like RWS mentioned)

I considered buying a 13M eight years ago that was at that time located in Toronto, Ontario. I drove down one spring day with patches of snow still on the ground, (200 miles) and looked it over for a couple of hours. It was the most beautiful thing and to tell the truth it scared me. You can't conceive how big it is until you're climbing aboard one that's dry docked.

That particular 13M had a factory hardtop (open at the rear). Very streamlined and cool looking. I heard it was sold and moved to Florida. Did I mention they are big and beautiful?

I found two water lines capped off in a compartment under the bunk in the. 2nd stateroom but no wirers present, my search continues.

In 2005 I was looking at a 13 meter express at a marina in Kent Narrows, MD. It too had a factory hard top, cockpit AC and get this, a TNT swim platform. Loved it, the 13 Meter has always been my favorite, hands down. The asking price was $150k so I passed on her but not without shedding a little tear.

My dream of owning a 13 meter is so close, so hopefully this transaction will go through and once this deal is completed I can't wait to get started on bringing her back to life.

My advice would be to begin at the freshwater tank and start tracing the water line from there. It just seems to me you would locate the pump or evidence of where it had been previously located (if it has indeed gone missing). Like already mentioned here, these pumps like to "push" water rather than try to "pull" it and so would be nearer to the pump rather than a great distance away. That's a very big engine room so there's a good chance that's where it is.

ReelWild and DOUGNASH are both veteran 13 meter owners. Perhaps you could private message both of them.

Good Luck

Hi
The fresh water pump is located in the first hatch as you enter the cabin

It is not the hatch where the waste tank and vacuflush pump is, that is the 2nd hatch

In the side stateroom hatch, that is where the heat pump should be, those two hoses, one should go to engine room to thru Hull fitting for raw water, the other should connect to a/c

The other pic is not that good

Here is a better pic for location

Make sure you add a simple water filter after the tank and BEFORE your pump, I had issues for a long time with small pebbles/calcium deposits clogging my faucets

Also my original pump was mounted very low in the bilge, after failing I moved it up about a foot, it is easier to service and will never have a chance of getting wet if you have water in the bilge

Doug, I'm way behind on your situation and those major issues you had previously with the rebuild of those diesels et al. So, how are things with the boat and what have you been up to? Good of you to help out Lumpy with his problem.

Cheers,

Rick

Awesome, thanks for the pics. Someone put down an engineered laminate floor and did a terrible job. That hatch is completely covered and I'll need to rip up the floor, which I planned to do anyway.

Thanks again for the information.

You're right about the side stateroom and the AC pump location but the two lines I'm talking about are in the bottom berth hatch near the stern. That's where the two water lines are capped. Is this where you were talking about, plus I'm not familiar with a heat pump. Are you referring to the AC/ heating unit underneath the side stateroom storage locker? Hope all that made sense.

Here's the pic of the laminate floor that covers the hatch. No possible way to service anything in that hatch without ripping up the entire flooring, which I plan to do.

Rip the floor up and voila, there was the freshwater pump. My title saga still continues, now in the 8th month.
