So here's how the boat was when I picked it up. Guessing most people wouldn't even touch a project like this.

Had lots, and lots of things attached to the rails. Lots of old electronics mounted on the transom. So spent a lot of time drilling and filling. Flared all the holes out a lot with a ball grinder. Thickened epoxy w/ chop strand mixed in. Also some pics of going through some stuff in the interior. Seeing what kind of nightmare I have to work with.

Of course had to start with some fun things, so got together what I wanted for the sound system, figured out the back deck placement, and got to work on that. Went with all Infinity, as it worked out great in my last boat. Finding space for the 10" subs proved to be a challenge, so had to make some boxes, and stuff them with polyfill to get the frequency down as low as I could. Been lazy, so haven't busted out the body filler on them yet. I did end up making them sealed boxes, adding on to the backs, as free air subs sound like absolute trash, otherwise.

Got to work gutting the inside a bit, pulling lots of old electronics and wiring, new sheeting on the teak engine hatch frames, as the old factory ones weren't even cut very straight. Plan on trimming it out in aluminum later on, after the floorings in. Also cleaned up the bilge area, scrubbed and scrubbed, sanded, scrubbed, and coated the bilge area in garage floor epoxy. Also coated the underside of the hatches and new floor sheeting in the same epoxy. Should last long enough for me. Did about 3 coats on everything. Going to be thiiick!

Finished up the sound system wiring, got the two amps in, each amp controls 2 speakers and 1 sub, 1800 watts peak each. Salon speakers will run off the Infinity PRV515 head unit. Which imo is overpriced crap, thing is kinda slow and glitchy, but it matches things and it's NMEA2000 compatible, so whatever. Also did some bluetooth lighting for the rear deck, just to get some fun stuff done, and a little extra light when I want.

Since I am trying to do this on the cheaper side of things, I scored a free new RV couch, take out from a new Keystone RV? I Think it was. They wanted bike racks, I wanted a couch, so it was a win-win. Slapped together a frame for this lightweight thing. Will get finished more later on. Also got the sump for the shower I need to install now, and then I can start working on the flooring for the kitchen/forward. Playing around with stains also, finally found a color I like. Going to be doing red mahogany wood stain, with white quartz countertops everywhere. Found a good deal on some quartz, hopefully it goes through.

Might be moving the couch to the other side, so I can put a TV stand on that side, and have an L shaped snack bar, coming off the kitchen divider. Basically will be my replacement dinette, as where the original dinette was, I'm going to be putting in 60" worth of cabinets, and moving the sink to that side. Fridge is going where the original oven was, so I'll be able to put in a much larger fridge. I guess if you can call 7cu ft a lot larger.

Now the hardest thing of this whole build, I have a feeling, is going to be finding a replacement flybridge acrylic windshield. That piece that wraps around the flybridge, to keep spray back I'm guessing. Mines cracked, and half of it is missing. No clue how I would get one made, or replaced. So if anyone has some solid leads or advice, I'm all ears.

Great pictorial report of your work! Coming along really nicely.

I was wondering if you'd found any delamination in your deck surface? Some of my friends have had that happen and have successfully performed their own repairs. Hopefully that problem is not present with your Trojan.

Mine has a few soft spots up on the forward deck. Inboard stringers also will need to be done, engine room back. Leaving that for last, lol. Was being used as-is, but everyone has their own standards. Anything can be fixed. In the end, still far cheaper then a new boat, and more fun when its something you've slapped together yourself. Traded a wheeler for the boat, and plan on having maybe 10k cash invested into it. Unless I decide to repower, which I'd be going diesel for sure. Some GM LM2 engines would be a nice fit. Originally thought about doing 6.0 gassers, for simplicity, but why not be different I suppose. Those new LM2's are light, make similar power and more torque than the crusaders, and sip the fuel. That can wait though.

First step, get the interior done. Second step, exterior and fixing soft spots. Third, well, pulling engines and all that fun.

She looks new compared to my F30 when I got her. ( it was bad) . Looks like your moving along and have a good handle on it. As far as diesel Yanmar has some nice compact ones. Would be easier to do than the LM2. With the LM2 it will take a lot of custom fabrication Mounts, heat exchanger water pump. exhaust manifold. bell housing, flywheel too.
