I am having trouble with one of the engines. When I get up to 2000 RPM,s I start to run rough, with load or without a load on the engine. I have changed carbs and that did not fix it. I do not back fire, just will not pick up any more and the tack starts to bounce all over the place. I can not figure it out. Stuck valve, head gasket, bent rod, Any ideas?
Thanks, Jon

I had a problem like that with one of the 318s that was in my 31' trojan
and found it was a distributer problem
so i changed the points out for the electronic ign and it solved it for me
what the problem was Im not really sure pionts, cap slop in the dist. gear dont really no
but changing it cure the problem
since then Ive repowered with 5.7 MPI PCM engines
hope this helps

fixed
That fixed it. My points were fluttering at high RPMs because a of a bad spring. 6>00 fixed the problem. Thanks.
