1961 hull number 53-1048

Looking for help on how to find a boat.Ihave finally located the Master carpenter's certificate for my fathers old boat and I need to know if there is a way to find out if a boat is still around by the hull number. It is a 1961 26' cabin cruiser hull number 53-1048. This boat holds great childhood memories and I have always wanted to find her and hopefully restore her to her original glory. Thanks for any help you can provide.
