Ammeters to Voltmeters

Post by Danmc50 »

I'm in the process of replacing the gauges on my 1967 31' Trojan. I'm ready to replace the ammeters / temperature gauges. I'd like to use voltmeters instead of ammeters. When it comes to the heavy gauge wires feeding the old ammeters, can I just tie them together as if the ammeter was never there? If not, then what should I do with them? Many thanks!

yes you can tie them together in fact if can shorten them it would be better . like if the wire goes from the alt to the gage to the battery you can just run it from the alt to the battery . but you need to see how it is run first . remeber the shorter the better >
