1985 10 meter transom

Post by savanahrae »

Does anyone know or have info on how the transom on my 1985 10 meter is built. My swim platform has started to flex at the transom because of the platform getting caught up in the dock during rough weather. I am trying to determine what my options are and knowing how it was constructed would help greatly. A cross section drawing would be a real blessing when exploring options

Maybe no one put a backing where it mounts ? you need to look at the mountings

You will find wood backing plates to reinforce the stainless tobes that are bolted to the transom.

I found one of my tubes was cracked at the weld.

After nearly 30 years of use & flexing it would be a good idea to replace those factory wood reinforcements with STARBOARD.

I did this 4 years ago on my '83 Trojan Internationl Express Cruiser and the swim platform has been rock solid ever since.
