Oil pressure Crusader 454's

Post by savanahrae »

I have a 1985 10 Meter International with Crusader 454's. Can anyone tell me what the acceptable range of oil pressure at different operating conditions is?

I'm not sure what the Crusader specs on this are however a general rule of thumb for oil pressure is to have 10 psi of oil pressure for every 1000 rpm of operation. 4000 rpm should have 40 psi oil pressure.

Hope this helps,

As gauges are not that accurate the key thing is to have pressure.
So the real thing you should look for is the needle level at initial start idle and then as engine warms up, what is it while running at say cruise.
The fact that it shows pressure change from stopped to run and some change cold to hot is more important than any single number it might register in my opinion.
