How bad is the slip fee? Could you move to another marina or find a private dock ?

Sorry to hear. Why not put a free ad on CL and try to find another slip at a reasonable price? There must be some vacant slips available at a reduced cost...you can also appeal to private homeowners with docks. Some money to them is better than no money and an empty dock...Plus, with your boat out back, it'd make their home stand out!

Good luck.

Slip Fee is $1842 per quarter for a 50', covered slip on the nicest dock on our Lake.
The trouble is to find a 50' covered slip in our area, this is about the only game in the area. I could go down the creek for a $30 savings per quarter BUT that's not worth it.

No, there is no one to partner with.... I would rather sell it than watch someone else use it and abuse it. I have it listed for $76600 on Craigslist. It's worth at MUCH more per the lake surveyors. It's always been a freshwater yacht.... I'm gonna miss her, but I need to move on.

I only pay $2000.00 a year for a covered slip on the lower Potomac.

Is the sun so harsh down the that you need a covered slip? How much is an uncovered slip?

Where I am located covered slips are getting harder to find and the sun is not that harsh. But covered slips offer many advantages like not having to deal with shrink wrapping in the winter and you can also work on the boat even when it is raining as well as keeping the boat cool in the summer.

A 50' x 18' covered slip is $325.00 per month where I'm at at Fate Sanders.
Did I read before that you live on the boat. If so, hey,,,move it to TN. :D
You sure would be welcome!

Wow I thought my $2500 for a seven month boating season here on Lake Michigan was high - but $1842/quarter???? That's outrageous! Sounds like you've looked at all the options - that really sucks!
