Some Trojans were actually built at the Hatteras Yachts plant in NC for a period of time. You boat maybe one of those lucky ones!

I will follow up with some details a little later...the company I work for actually supplied some of the driveline items so this is legit info.

This would have been during the time frame when Genmar owned Trojan and was still building under that name.

I believe the delta conic hulls were all out of Lancaster, PA.

The 10.8's and Pulaski WI built hulls need some background info posted here on the forum as a point of information.

Hello all,

SEF did produce parts for Trojan and we did ship parts for new construction to the Hatteras Yachts plant in High Point NC.

I have requested the Trojan models and parts list and timeframe that we produced parts for them.

It is VERY true that some Trojans were built in the Hatteras Yachts plant in High Point NC.

It is not the Delta Conic hull. '91 must have been the year of change.

The 10.8 meter was different hull and the only hull mold that Carver used (they did modify it)

Looks different than the Delta Conic Hull - Schoell design.

I do not see the wide chine characteristic that runs from bow to stern.

That said, this is an incredible looking boat.

I would love to see more photos and details of this unique vessel shared here on our forum.

I will be happy to post pictures when the weather breaks. The boat is currently under 4 feet of snow. We had a previous post on this boat design and the differences. I am speaking of the EXPRESS only, as the convertible has the original Schoell hull. The 10.8 Meter EXPRESS was a different hull design created by Trojan for the new 10.8 Meter Express starting in 1990 until they went under (which was 2 years later - but their was only 1 model year made, which was 1991)). After the buy-out, Carver took the design, made some modifications and put out the Carver/Trojan 370 in 1994. This boat was solely built by Carver and only used the Trojan name for their new line of sport cruisers. The story on the Trojan International 10.8 Meter Express goes that Trojan was trying to update the design of their International Series and were consulting with the designers from Bertram. I guess you could call this the International prototype for Trojan, because no other Trojan International boat has this hull design. One of the goals for Trojan was to try to make a more fuel efficient hull. It wasn't out long enouph to get much data, and the Carver hull is somewhat different so we only have the stories told by the current 10.8M EXPRESS owners, which are far and few between. Most of the data I have is pretty consistent with the 10M owners. The boat has a documented dry weight of 17,500 lbs., so it is a bit heavier than the 10. This would be a great boat with some diesels. Especially with gas prices nearing the $5/gallon mark.

Different hull 19 knots at 4100 ? dirty bottom ? or is this normal ?

Pascoe starts of on 10.8 then keeps talking about the 10 meter , Thats why I don't pay much a attention to him :?

trojan 10.8 express

Post by CaptMike »

The 1991 10.8 meter was made by Trojan Bertram. I have a "trojan by Bertram" badge on my helm station.

They were under the same parent company but operated independently. As I said, a Bertram hull designer was consulted for the "new" hull design for this ONE boat. The entry of the bow is similiar to a Bertram hull, but it does not carry the angle aft like the deep V of the Bertram. It has about the same rise as the Delta Conic at the stern.

Do you have the Express model?
