I tried to reply to this thread once and somehow lost it all, so will try again.
I remember Sea Hunt very well. The first show I saw on TV was when my folks bought our first TV and I was 11 yrs old. When we first turned it on,,,,Superman was the show that was playing. I was truly amazed at being able to see this from our own living room.
I remember all the shows being mentioned here. Sea Hunt was one of my favorites though.

Well be 69 this Feb. so may be a little older than most here. I remember listening to the Indy 500 on the radio.

My boys, 3 of them really envy me for growing up in the 50's and 60's. My youngest,,,,36 yrs old listens to Elvis 85% of the time.
Remember when you could open the hood on a car and be able to see the engine, spark plugs and all,,,,,,,

My first car was a 1951 Plymouth Cranbrook 2-door coupe. It had a flat head six and "three on the tree". No radio, vacuum wipers, heater that was barely warm, manual choke, and built like a tank - GREAT CAR! At sixteen (the car was 13 years old) I thought I was king of the road. You could definitely see the engine on that.

Even though I might be one of the younger ones around here I grew up with older cars and I really don't know what my son (8) is going to do when he is old enough to drive. If my car broke down, I would pop the hood and tinker with it until it was fixed. The other day I replaced my battery and the dam radio when into lock mode??? It required a trip to the dealer to reset it. It seems to me that in the next 10 to 20 years all the cars on the road will be driven for 10 years and then junked. I really can't see a normal guy having a 3K computer at his house to reset the timing on his classic 2001 chevy trans am.

OK....lets keep the jokes to a minimum : 1976 AMC Hornet station wagon w/ Gucci leather seats was my first. Had EVERY option AMC offered incl. FI v8. (don't remember the cid) Totaled it in '78 when I was 16

I have an all original (except the outside paint) 1950 Chevy Fleetline Deluxe fastback in the garage that has never been restored and I drive it on sunny days. Brings back great memories from when I was a teenager and used to buy these cars for $35 to $50 and take them out stump jumping and when they broke too bad to fix on the spot I just left them in the woods. Now days it's really hard to find one. Fun to work on too. I guess I'm stuck in the fifties and sixties. Maybe that's why I like working on my Trojan so much, everything is easy to get to like the old cars.

My 1st car was a 1972 Chevelle Super Sport. My father didn't know it had a 4-bbl until after I bought it

Dark Blue, Back Interior, automatic, 350, cam, intake, headers, side dump exhaust and aluminum dish mags. Painted it black after 2 years (not sure why - just liked black). Loved that car - never should have sold it - but it wasn't a good college car (bad mpg).

Sold it and got a 1974 Mercury Capri with the V6, mags and 60 series radials - it would run 135 and handled great. Totaled it and got an MGB - weakest car I've ever owned, but it was a lot of fun with the top down ...

I had a 1980 MGB, absolutley loved tha car, had it through my four years in the NAVY, the girls loved it, it wasnt a race car but it could corner and had that true birtish exhaust tone. Traded the car for a 1966 Porsche 911T, looked cool but what a piece of &#!?, glad I got that out my system back in my twenties!

Sorry to here that, I've always had a porsche and it has proved to be one of the most trouble free cars older cars I have ever owned. I even take it to work 2-3 days a week.

my 1st was a 71 Skylark GS 455 that mother would flat out haul a*$ ! Blew it up drag racing it. then got a 62 F100 short bed with a 312 in it and 3 on the tree

and off to the races again, then joined the Navy after a few yrs got a Spitfire a car I love to hate the Brit's couldn't wire they're way out of a wet bag and the side daft carb was a piece of s#** then on to a 71 chevelle re-did it and just sold it a couple of yrs. ago to buy my BOAT
