Florida Panhandle Trojans

Post by rap55 »

Anybody gonna fish the upcoming tournaments around Pensacola? If the boat is ready, I may try to get the outriggers mounted and throw our name in the hat for the amberjack and billfish tourney.

Thanks, Rick - F-36 / MissKitty

Bayou Grande

Post by rap55 »

Hey Kevinz,

We are tied up on Bayou Chico between the two bridges. We spent about a week on the boat working on plumbing new hot water tank, shower, etc. The weather was great while we were there and would have got more done if we could have stayed out of the Oar House and the Bloody Mary`s.
We are probably going to move the boat if we can find a slip at a decent price. Not enough water in the bayou at our present slip. Winter winds out of the north always blows the water out of Bayou Chico but summer`s not bad as the wind changes direction and seems to blow the water back in. The weather looks like it`s been pretty rough the last few day`s. Definitely not fun boating weather.

How long have you lived in P-cola? Whats the oil situation around Ft. McRae? Last word I got was they were doing a lot of clean-up in that area. Where is the best place to haul-out, wash and wax?

rap55, pm me if you can. I know of a few good places to moore and haul out.
The oil made it hard to boat, commerical traffic, de-con stations, and oil! We were at the cove two week-ends ago, and a few clean up workers on friday, but no sign of them during the week-end.
awful week for boating, windy, rain, and now getting cold again
