My previous boat had a similar gauge issue. The problem was the negative return was too small. If I had too much stuff on, the negative return couldn't handle all of the electrons that were trying to get back to ground and were "backfeeding" (for lack of a better term) through the gauges. I added two additional negative returns from the ground bus to the batteries and the problem disappeared. Try this before you start spending money on new gauges.mikeandanne wrote:Thanks to everyone for the help ,it has been extremely helpful.I have looked into the nmea, like the idea ,don't know if my old brain can figure that out.We do need some guage help though as my stuff is a little wacky---blower on and tachs go upscale etc. There is no doubt that the new products are really neat, although I believe it is possible to surpass the value of the entire boat quite easily--looking forward to spending at the show--Mike
