On the water

Post by larryeddington »

I finally am the owner of an f28 in the dock afloat, pressure washed it and now focusing on getting second engine running, put the two AFBs I had rebuilt from the grounded f28 the one engine running ran well on the new carbs but the other did not start. Next trip will check out the usual suspects, fuel to carb and ignition, suspect the latter. will keep you posted. Slept on her last night. :D

Spending two days a week with the F28, rebuilt carbies, checked Chrysler ignition module plug for tightness, one was loose, no screw in place to hold the plug in. Both engines fire normally, corrected several other problems one with the blowers. loose fuse. Anticipate shakedown cruise within a month. :D

Yep been there and done that to a boat. My son and I learned a lot about engines and a lot of other things on the first boat we had. Still learning and hope to never stop learning.

We have moved the boat to Hampton Yacht Club. I guess we have been there over a year now. Love it. Lots of things going on at the club. We also have a 16 foot McKee boat there too. I use it to fish and my son and wife plus friends use it to run around on Hampton River. (party boat) We just idle up the river and have a few drinks on the way. I do not drink while piloting and very little otherwise. No one gets drunk just having a relaxing time. Hope to get some fishing in on the Trojan this year.
