Post by Diverted Income »

I'll admit I haven't studied the mounting of the dinette table miuch but, how does it come off to convert to a berth? Does it slide forward or un clip somehow? Thanks!

Thanks. Will look at it next time on board. It is stranded mid-trip due to high water. ( again )! Darn weather.

Nope. It goes down.

The 'hinge and latch' system for the table works like this : Fold the leg up out of the way, then lower the edge of the table several inches (until it's almost hitting your seat cushions). It will swing down as if it is on a hinge. Lets pretend it is now leaning down on a 20 degree angle. Then lift the back edge of the table - or the whole table - up keeping it on that same 20deg angle.

Here is a quickly scrambled together diagram of what the hinge / latch system looks like, what happens when you drop the table down, and then lift the back edge out of the hinge.

I guess I should have been more exact . But you do lift the end by the wall , I just fold the leg in and lift the other end very slight tilt needed on mine . Mine could be worn .

Hate to admit it, but I am an MS Office / Powerpoint weenie, and then just used an image capture tool to grab the drawing and convert to jpg. Drew the engineering drawings for my wheel hub adapter the same way a couple of years back.

That's funny! My sister used Powerpoint to design her summer cottage, right down to the exterior colors!

For THAT I would defer to my wife (the Designer), and her CAD package that does awesome 3-D renderings.

Old Post, but does anyone have info how the table in the VEE Berth works for a 1973 F31? Unfortunately the leg is missing and trying to figure out what to fabricate.

Thanks,
Tim

I used 2 pieces of 1 1/2 inch wide 3 foot long 1/8 inch thick metal to slide under the front portion and back portion to rest the inset on. No issues.
