1963 Trojan Seabreeze hull painting

Post by Captain Blast Off »

Haven't been on for a long time; busy with the boat; the old girl needed a makeover so we took her to the local boat yard; here are some pics.... it's not done yet hope to splash next week.

Just hauled and washed

Problem area that was addressed; rot under the stainless trim.

Cleaned rot (wasn't very deep yet); applied penetrating epoxy; ready for filler.

Sanding and filling

First coat of primer

Second coat of primer was applied and color went on yesterday; installing a new swim platform that I bought on craigslist and refinished. Tomorrow is stainless trim polishing all day. I'll have more pics after tomorrow.

Spent all day polishing stainless trim; finally I can start putting trim back on. Not bad for a plywood boat...

Thanks; boot stripe and bottom should be done on Monday or Tuesday and then I can pull off the masking! installing all the stainless tomorrow and Saturday; repacking rudders and putting on new zincs.

Looks awesome! Glad to hear of someone thinking about splashing instead of winterizing. The boating season is NOT OVER for us northeasterners (so I keep telling myself).
I needed a less expensive hobby, so I bought a boat!
