Small Fiberglass Job

Post by gitchisum »

Well, the PO had removed the ladder and done a repair job on the deck that was delaminating. So thought I would take that opportunity to resurface and have a new non skid in the cockpit.

First step, get the hatch into somewhere warm. Check!

Next step

I wonder what's under there?

So I wonder how bad this gets?

The good news is, should be solid when I'm done

Oh bugger. What a fun project.

I am sure once you are finished it will be great.

Just a question

How come you did not work on it from the bottom side? then you would not have to much in the way of finish work

Mostly because the bottom looked better than the top!!!!

PO had made some "customization" that was coming apart at the seams. So my intent was to cut that out and reglass.

First cut

Second cut

New core, glassed up and painted.

Now wait for some spring weather to get after the rest of the problems.

Hole is for a deck plate. Have the sea cock for for my wash down pump under there.

It was installed by the PO and was done nicely. So I left it.
