F-44 Convertibe Sedan - Curiosity

Post by JimK »

I am not sure if this belongs here or on the pontification page. I was curious if anyone has ever see an F-44 Convertible Sedan. I did not know that Trojan made a convertible sedan above the F36 until I came upon an old catalog recently.

Yes. They did make them. I have seen one in the charter fishing fleet, out of Port Credit (Ontario).

Oops - guess I was wrong.. they claim their boat is a 46', but will be similar.

Its not a Trojan for sure , I still thinking its a hat from the 70s , look at the cabin lines but could be wrong . Good photos would be nice . I sent a email to the broker not that I will get a answer

what are you thinking it is ?

more bad info
" The boat was re-poweredwith twin Detroit 6V-92TA twin Turbos ( 475 HP ea, V-8's ) The Engines have only 650 HRS,"

Are the 6V or V8 ?

This boat could have had a major refit and that could have changed the looks , but I see nothing that says Trojan to me .

I think I remember reading that Hatteras had built some 44 Trojans at one of their plants, don't know what years but maybe around Genmar time---could be all here say though---- Mike

It ain't not Trojan, that's for sure. I can see Hatteras. I doubt it is a Rybovich. Certainly not an old Bertram. Definitely not a Viking. Teensy possibility of it being a Post...

Identify that boat! I'm thinking a one of the last fiberglass Matthews. The reason I'm leaning away from Hatteras is the interior. Hatteras always had nice wood interiors with a good fit. Also, the helm is forward and not aft on the bridge, Hatteras most of the time has the helm aft overlooking the cockpit.

I am still thinking Hat saw another Hat and the insides look similar . For all we know it could be a wood boat . Of course that takes Hat out of the pic .

Have not heard form the Broker . I would love a hull ID #

I thought that at first too but I don't know if Eggs had that style of raised deck.

Now that you mention Egg's I can almost see it. With that said the add said that most of wood had been replaced which Egg Harbors did have wood topsides about that time 70's. But then again Egg Harbor only offered 33, 36, 40, 46 and 48's no 44's

I'd say its a 43 or 46 Egg.

The curved glass windows on the rear of the superstructure and the cockpit entryway are a dead giveaway.

Its not a Trojan, and its not a 44.
