Teleflex has a system called SeaStar that is essentially the replacement for what you have now. I believe many others on the forum have swapped out original steering for this system. If you are dual station I don't know if you can just replace the helm pump unit, or if you have to replace both of them.

when i still had my f32 i tried a repair on my syten unit i had found on the internet but the housing cracked during the process so i changer to a new seastar. i replaced only the lower helm with a new seastar pump.i had no issues and it operated perfectly fine with no changes at all to the existing parts/valves. just make sure you put the correct (nonvented) fill plug on it on the lower helm, the boat is still at my marina and the new owner has had no issues either.

I had to replace my lower unit as parts were no where to be found anymore.

Good luck with it!
