Hynautic Steering Question

Post by yorklyn »

Has anyone replaced the original copper lines on their Hynautic steering? My lines are not leaking but they kind of look crappy. I would love to go with flexible lines so they would be easy to route. Having trouble figuring out exactly what type and size to use? I believe I have the H-50 .

Thanks

I have enough Teleflex flexable line to do a dual helm F32. I ordered some from a company who screwed up and sent me double. I would be willing to sell you the lot if you were interested. pM me.

Thanks. Is the teleflex line one of the hard flexible plastic lines or is it more of a rubber hydraulic hose?

The guy next to me has a big Boston Whaler (31') which is around the same age as our boats. He has the exact same Hynautic system but they used the same Blue/Aeroquip flex hose instead of copper. It looks exactly like the flex fuel line on my boat with the same fittings. This has been on my "fix it before it breaks" list and something I might do this winter.

The Teleflex line is the hard plastic line. I will check tomorrow night the diameter and length I have.

My lines are on the "fix" list too. Will be watching the thread to see what everyone's recommendation is. I seem to have a mix of black rubber like lines (where it goes thru the engine room bulkhead) and copper lines thru the layette to the pump/filter/reservoir (not sure what it is).
